Hey hey Thrifters!
Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend the Sweet On Satchels pre party hosted by Satchels of Caring Foundation. Satchels of Caring is a nonprofit that uses high quality donated fabrics to create unique Satchels of Caring that are filled with therapeutic and inspirational contents for cancer patients. They make satchels for women and girls with cancer. They also provide nice drawstring bags for men with cancer and fill them with therapeutic and inspirational contents as well. Volunteers from the community design, sew and assemble the satchels, and their distribution partners hand deliver them to the cancer patients.
I'm so glad I was able to attend this awesome event! I got to donate my gently used items, network with some amazing women and eat delicious desserts.
Sweet On Satchels was a pre party where they collected gently used and new hand bags for their annual fundraiser "Bags, Bellinis and Brunch." They are hoping to raise funds to fill over half of their satchels. Which is over 700 satchels! Thats over 700 cancer patients that will receive a satchel with therapeutic items. How awesome is that?! Along with raising funds, they will also raffle off the donated handbags, accessories and gifts from the pre party to the women attending the brunch. "Bags, Bellinis and Brunch" will be on April 30th from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Valley Brook Country Club.

Overall, Satchels of Caring is awesome! I plan to volunteer and get more involved with this nonprofit because I believe what they do is admirable. I'm so grateful to give back to an amazing cause.
